Gateway Scout Group is a registered charity No. 287018

The leaders

All the leaders volunteer their time freely, are DBS checked by the Scout Association and undergo training.

If your child decides to join, you will need to buy them a uniform and pay their subs which are currently £12 per month, payable by standing order. The subs covers the costs of membership to the Scout Association (which includes such things as insurance), hire of the buildings we use, badges and games and activities during the weekly meetings amongst other things.

Scouting is open to both girls and boys.

Gateway has an Inclusion Fund which has been established to try and ensure that as far as possible all the children in our Group can take part in all the activities they wish too, irrespective of parental ability to pay. This fund can help with such things as subsidising camp fees or uniform purchase.
Alternatively we may be able to offer an interest free loan with a repayment schedule to suit the family concerned, if that is preferred.

Requests will be treated in total confidence.

So if your child would like to go on that camp and you have said no – please think again and get in touch! That’s why we have the fund!

More information on our inclusion policy here.

Scouting is available to people of all faiths and those without faith.  The association therefore has promise alternatives which can be found here.
